The anime OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Knew What She’s Saying will premiere on January 4, 2025. The latest trailer showcases the opening theme song, Dai Dai Daisuki (I Really, Really Love You) by Okinawan band HY. Directed by Shin Itagaki and Shingo Tanabe at Millepensee, the show highlights cultural differences through Teruaki Nakamura’s journey of falling for a girl whose Okinawan dialect he struggles to understand.
The series will air on TOKYO MX, BS11, and Okinawan channels. Tomohiro Yoshida is the character designer, and music is by Tomohisa Ishikawa and team. Studio Mausu handles sound, with Hodaka Fukumura as the dialect coach.
