A new anime project, "Shin Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo", has been announced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Osamu Akimoto's "Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo" (KochiKame). Production will be handled by Gallop, the same studio as the original anime, but with a new cast. A teaser visual shows Ryo-san in front of the Katsushika City Kanamachi Water Purification Plant's intake tower. Details about the new cast will be revealed in September 2026. This announcement was made at Jump Festa 2026, during a joint stage event with "Undead Unluck" and "Assassination Classroom." Impractical's Hiruchan, a known KochiKame fan, attended the event in Ryo-san cosplay.
