Tsuyoshi Takaki's "Black Torch" is getting a TV anime adaptation directed by Kei Umabiki and produced by 100studio. The story follows Jirou Azuma, a ninja descendant who can talk to animals, and his encounter with Ragou, a black cat who is actually a legendary mononoke. They fuse together, and Jirou joins a secret organization to fight other mononoke. The anime features character designs by Gou Suzuki, series composition and script by Gigaemon Ichikawa , and music by Yutaka Yamada. Takaki expressed his surprise and excitement, while Mahiki promised to bring the manga's charm to life through animation.
